...it also has a unique micro-climate created by the surrounding hills that makes it so very special...
Slap bang in the Costa Blanca, Benidorm's sunshine is part of what makes it one of the best holiday destinations in the Mediterranean but it also has a unique micro-climate created by the surrounding hills that makes it so very special.
Open to the south on the double curve of its two long beaches beaches, Benidorm is protected from the winds by the mountains Sierra Helada to the east, Aitana to the north and Tossal de la Cala to the west. The result?
Fabulous Holidays all year round, with
summer sun and temperate winters.
There's about six hours of sunshine a day in winter, with mild temperatures much warmer than those inland. As for the summertime, expect around twelve hours of sun per day with some humidity. More details are below to help you decide when to book.

- Sunny and warm from May-Oct
- Most crowded and hot in July-Aug, although the climate is tempered by a sea breeze
- A year-round resort with pleasantly warm winters
- Swimming in sea from June-Oct (and November too, if you're used to the cold Northern European Winters!)
Please bear in mind that the temperatures shown above are averages and that in high summer the hottest parts of the day are HOT.
See Suncare for pointers on how best to keep cool and take care of those with especially sensitive skins.
