A Bit of Blue

giant blue fish paella for 1200 people

Fish that is! The tourist authorities in Vila Joiosa are having a festival featuring everything to do with blue fish. For the uninitiated the blue fish is a family which includes, sardines, salmon, tuna, trout and swordfish and is extremely healthy as part of the Mediterranean diet because of the amount of oil it has.

The festival includes not only competitions for catching the fish, but also (and even better) a course on how to cook it run by the chef of the famous Restaurante Torrijos in Valencia which is the proud possessor of a Michelin star.

Next Saturday there'll be a competition for the best blue fish recipe and a giant blue fish paella for 1200 people, so try and get along to sample some.
