All Hands to the Pumps

growth of harmless but unpleasant looking algae
The coastal waters of Benidorm will be a little cleaner thanks to a new pumping system which will carry surplus rainwater father out to sea.
Presently any heavy shower provokes torrents of rainwater in the Rincon de Loix district which drains into the sea close to the Levante beach, causing the occasional 'stain' in the sea. The new pumping system will disperse the rainwater a much greater distance from the beach so no similar problems will occur in future.
Meanwhile, adjustments will be made to the foot showers on the Levante beach because the system they use to draw in seawater sometimes provokes the growth of harmless but unpleasant looking algae in the water close to the beach. So now we can all have clean feet and crystal clear blue seas.
