Bathing Platforms

Benidorm's three bathing platforms which are anchored off the beaches are back in business. The platforms were closed earlier in the week because of safety fears but have now reopened after inspections revealed that there was nothing to worry about.

The platforms are part of a fleet of 12 which are dotted up and down the coast, supervised by the Valencian Tourist Agency, whose chief technician says that their top priority is the safety of bathers using the platforms.

He points out that 10 million people a year have used the platforms for the last 10 years - over a hundred million users in total - without a serious incident!
