Beach Volleyball Champ

A young Benidorm beach volleyball player has been proclaimed sub-champion of Europe in the recent European championships of this sea-side sport.

Fran Marco who plays for the Bali group locally was in the Spanish youth team which lost to France in the championships held last week in Milan, which seems a strange venue for a beach sport given that it's further from the sea than Southport!

Having had a fairly easy progress to the final the team came unstuck against the French, but Fran believes that the future for beach volleyball is bright in Benidorm, which of course has two enormous sandy beaches to practise on.
