Benidorm FC - Pitch Battle

can train without fear of injury
The pitch at the municipal football ground, Foietes, where Benidorm Football club play their home games is in such a bad state that the team have been forced to abandon it for pastures greener.
Over the last couple of weeks the state of the pitch has grown worse and has now practically disappeared, forcing the team onto the artificial turf at nearby Finestrat, where they can train without fear of injury caused by the divots and uneven surface Foietes.
Politicians have now become involved and are asking what has caused such a rapid deterioration to the pitch which was completely renovated less than three years ago. One possible cause cited is the water from the well which irrigates the pitch, but this doesn't help our poor footballers, currently only in 14th position of their group in the Spanish second division B.
