Benidorm Song Contest

Over 2000 applications were received
The competition to reach the grand finals of the Benidorm song contest in June is well under way. Already heats to eliminate the wheat from the chaff have been held in London and Miami, and this week the Spanish competitors are being put through their paces in the Melia Hotel.
Over 2000 applications to take part in the Spanish 'castings' were received by the organisers and this number has been narrowed down to 242 who will sing for their chance to be one of 12 to appear in the final.
Believe it or not, six singers have come all the way from South America to audition because they couldn't make it to Miami!
