Benidorm FC only offered €54,000 for the season

If, like for us, there's no greater pleasure than settling down in front of the box with a Chinese takeaway, a few beers, and watching your favourite team in action, then disappointment awaits if you're a fan of Benidorm Football Club.

Both Benidorm and Villajoyosa clubs have refused to sign the contract with Canal 9, the local Comunidad de Valencia TV channel, to transmit their matches throughout the province. The Presidents of the clubs say that the amount of money offered by Canal 9, €54,000 for the season, is discriminatory and offensive (ie not enough) especially when compared to the amount offered to Alicante, nearly ten times more at €510,000!

We think they're right, after all, what have Alicante done for us lately?
