the inevitable need for space in the town's cemetery
One of the only sure facts of life is that none of us is going to live forever. In a growing town like Benidorm as the population increases so does the inevitable need for space in the town's cemetery.
First time visitors to a Spanish cemetery might find it unusual that the 'graves' are not underground, but are 'niches' in a wall, rather like a block of apartments.
Benidorm council has just received another 5 blocks of niches as the cemetery expands and has unveiled plans for a new chapel of rest to be constructed, and already 5 companies have submitted budget prices for its construction.
