Billionaire Boy Racers Club

a hundred millionaires with money to burn

Last week saw possibly the most publicised trip to Benidorm in years. Both the Spanish press and British tabloids were full of news about the so-called Cannonball Run, an alleged race from London to Benidorm by the extremely wealthy owners of luxury cars.

Spanish police say they fined 60 of the owners of Porsches, Ferraris and Rolls Royces for speeding, some doing more than 200 KPH, whilst the organisers say it wasn't a race and anybody found going too fast was disqualified from the road trip.

Here in Benidorm the council prohibited the organisers from putting the vehicles on display at the end of the drive, and quite rightly so! Let's face it, when a hundred millionaires with money to burn drive into your town the last thing you want to do is make it easy for them to park. And with that they all went to Albacete, where they had hired a race-track, to spend their money there.
