Benidorm Bin Beat
Published on 17th November, 2004
a bin every 305 metres
The socialist councillors of Benidorm have been on an important mission pounding the beat on the town's many streets and now they have just published their remarkable findings.
From a total of 89 streets surveyed 43 did not have any waste paper bins, and that's nearly 50%! To compile this information the socialists plodded a foot weary total of 42 kilometres during which they encountered only 133 bins, that is to say a bin every 305 metres.
However the sad reality of our bin situation is that sometimes anybody in urgent need of a bin may have to walk more than the statistical average metres as the 43 streets mentioned above have no bins, others have one, and some lucky streets have two!
