Building Bridges

There's a big religious holiday in Spain on 12th October. It's the festival of 'La Virgen del Pilar' and because this year it falls on a Tuesday the world and his wife take the day off work on the Monday by building a 'bridge' from the weekend so they can all have four days holiday.
Benidorm hoteliers are rather happy about this, because as well as the recuperation of the British holiday market to the town, the influx of Spanish holiday-makers (mostly from Madrid) has bumped low season occupancy rates up beyond the 90% level.
