Benidorm is certainly living up to its reputation as the Chicago of southern Spain with its skyscraping landscape set to be joined by even more high-rise buildings.
The council here has just given approval to make yet more land 'urbanisable' which thanks to the vertical nature of construction here will give about 20 million square metres of building. Meanwhile, nearby Altea and La Nucia have put the brakes on releasing new land for construction until a new General Plan can be approved.
