Benidorm Church Renovation
Published on 2nd December, 2004
Think of Benidorm and its modern skyscraper hotels automatically come to mind. However there are some very old and very beautiful buildings in town and the council is investing €1.3 million to renovate one.
The church of San Jaime and Santa Ana as it is today was built between 1740 and 1780 but it actually incorporates a chapel dating back to the 14th century in its structure. The work will be done in 3 phases which will both improve the appearance and structure of the church which has cracks which allow water in. The job should be done by the end of 2006.
