Ever wondered what it's like to be a member of Benidorm's street cleaning squad, driving round town in a little wagon in the August sun?
Hot, apparently, is the word most often used to describe cab conditions where temperature exceed maximum levels laid down in health and safety rules and can produce thermal stress!
So to make life more comfortable for the drivers all the vehicles are having air conditioning installed on a rolling programme so that the streets will remain pristinely clean whilst the drivers keep as cool as cucumbers.
But it doesn't stop there, because all the wagons which only normally come out at night, for example the bin men's, will also have a/c! Who'd have thought it, air conditioned bin men?
