Our local authorities are often criticised for not being able to see the wood for the trees but there's no danger of that accusation being made now.

The Council have catalogued around 600 trees including palms, carobs and olives, which are currently growing in an area that is soon to be urbanised. Most of the trees will be carefully transplanted to brighten up and provide a green lung in more urban areas of Benidorm.

Meanwhile over in Altea a new irrigation system is being installed which will cover 400 hectares of land and benefit 1500 farmers. The full €4 million cost of the system is being subsidised with a €3 million grant from the Department of Agriculture.
