an incredible 27% of Benidorm's townsfolk are foreigners
The population of Benidorm has increased by a whopping 10,000 people over the last two years. This statistic is made even more remarkable when it is put into the context of a population increase from 57,000 to 67,000.
We don't want you all to think that this is because there's nothing else to do on dark winter nights when there's no football on the telly as most of the new inhabitants have immigrated to the town from other areas!
Most immigrants are Spanish but an incredible 27% of Benidorm's townsfolk are foreigners, with a total of 17,954 people having originated in no less than 122 countries from around the world.
