Square-eyed fans of the round ball game can now relax safe in the knowledge that Benidorm Football Club's matches will be shown on the box this season.

Both Benidorm and Villajoyosa clubs - the pride of the Spanish second division B group - had not signed an agreement with the Canal 9 TV company to televise their matches because of the lack of dosh.

Now all parties have reached an agreement that increases the amount paid to the clubs according to how well they're doing and will certainly incentivise, as if they needed it, the players. We can see it now, the first ever Costa Blanca local derby, Benidorm v Villajoyosa, in the EUFA Champion's League final in Istanbul next May 25th!
