How Clean is your Beach?

Last year the council handed over the responsibility for cleaning the beaches to a private company and they also handed over the cleaning equipment and machinery too.
To say the least it was a bit worn and tired, so now Absa, the private company, has just invested €700,000 in state of the art beach cleaning equipment to ensure that everything is in sparkling pristine condition when holidaymakers arrive.
The equipment includes 3 new tractors, 2 new cleaners which filter rubbish out of the sand even if it's wet, and a smaller manual cleaner which gets into those awkward gaps between sunloungers, palm trees and the like!
