Do They Know it's Christmas

Or more to the point, do they know that Christmas finished weeks ago? It seems that the council's socialist group do, as they've just written a letter to the mayor, urging him to have the Christmas lights and posters which still adorn the town, taken down. They say it doesn't create a good impression on tourists arriving in February to see left over Christmas decorations on the streets, and we agree.
