One lucky winner scooped €3 million
Lottery Office number 4 in Benidorm was the place to be this week when it was revealed that €9 million in prize money from Spain's National lottery had been won on tickets purchased there.
Some lucky tourists from Asturias will be taking about half of the prize money back north with them after what must have been a holiday of a lifetime, but the rest will stay in the Benidorm area. One lucky winner scooped €3 million to himself whilst the rest of the prize will be distributed in €60,000 chunks.
What makes the story just that bit more remarkable is that all the lottery tickets in this draw carried a photograph of nearby La Nucia - now isn't that a coincidence?
