the triumph of the forces of good over the forces of evil
Odds Bodkins, round our way we don't need an excuse to have a good olde Medieval style knees up but if we did we've got the perfect excuse this weekend. It's the 25th anniversary of the start of the re-enactment of the triumph of the forces of good over the forces of evil in Spain some 500 years ago.
In Altea the Christians (the goodies) have wiped the floor with the Moors (the fez wearing baddies) on an annual basis for the last quarter of a century and the council which is predominantly Christian, has seen this as a reason for celebration.
So the old part of Altea round the church will be host to all sorts of Dark Age shenanigans until thoroughly modern Monday comes round again.
