Fiesta-time: Moors 0 - Christians 1

Phew! What fun it's been this weekend with the traditional Moors and Christians festival in the streets of the town.
As usual the Christians triumphed in the re-enactment of the expulsion of the Moors from Spain in 1492, in this three-day event celebrating all that was good about medieval sieges. Out were starvation, treachery, boiling oil and butchery, and in were fireworks and fun, fun, fun, as a lot of men wearing fezzes (yes, just like Tommy Cooper) and leather and armour showed us just how a castle should be taken.
Saturday night saw the culmination of festivities with a giant parade through the crowded streets featuring over 1000 people dressed in fabulous costumes complete with floats, horses, camels and the jewel bedecked King of the Christians.
If you couldn't be here, don't worry, because they'll be doing it all again, same time, same place, next year.
