More Aids Concert Details

taped messages from Bill Clinton

We've been given more details of the big Aids benefit concert in Benidorm on 21st August. Taking place in the 30,000 capacity football stadium, the concert has a roster of mostly Latin artists who will perform from 10PM until 2AM.

The full list is Alex Ubago, Azúcar Moreno, Chayanne, Dave Stewart, Diego Torres, Enrique Iglesias, Franco de Vita, Jarabe de Palo, Joaquín Cortés, Luis Cobos, Monstserrat Caballé, Malú, Maná, Miguel Bosé, Miguel Rios, Paco de Lucía, Queen, Revolver, Ricardo Montaner, Shakira and Zucchero.

No single artist will perform more than two songs on the night and some will sing duets - Monserrat Caballé and Queen are going to sing 'We are the Champions' - so that everybody gets to see their favourite artists. There will also be taped messages from Bill Clinton and Robert de Niro as well as a live link up to Nelson Mandela.

The concert will be transmitted worldwide on 1st December on TVEi which can be received in Britain via the SKY digital package.

27 July 2004 Stephen White.
