Occupied Benidorm
Published on 27th October, 2004
September was a very good month for the resort's hotels and tourist businesses. Figures from the Spanish National Institute of Statistics show that Benidorm had the highest hotel occupancy rate on the Spanish mainland with over 88% of its places taken. Translated into overnight stays this means that an incredible 1,050,582 bed/nights were occupied by 152,500 tourists during the month.
Estimates for October are equally encouraging, though statisticians are quick to point out the 'blip' of 100% occupancy which occurred in the second weekend of the month which was a big national holiday here.
