Post Early for Christmas

too many letters and not enough people to deliver them
The 38 postmen and women of the Benidorm post office are rushed off their feet. The problem is that there are too many letters and not enough people to deliver them and so many people have not been receiving their mail on time.
The union which represents the posties says that Benidorm has grown super rapidly over the last few years but the post office staff level has not kept pace. The official population of the town is 67,573 but with 52,379 dwellings it's easy to see that the population mushrooms in the summer months.
Add to this the periodic mailing of utilities' bills like electricity and water and chaos easily ensues. We say it's a good thing that Christmas isn't in August, just when the water and electricity bills coincide, otherwise we'd be receiving our St. Valentine's cards in November.
