New Radiotherapy Clinic

The Benidorm urban planning department has given its blessing to the construction of a brand new radiotherapy unit in town which will provide the most scientifically advanced treatment for cancer in the whole of Spain.

The clinic will be housed in a 300 square metres 'bunker' with its own linear neutron accelerator and will cost some €3million. Although a private health company is financing the project, the unit will be available to treat national health patients, and will negate the need to travel to Valencia or Alicante by cancer sufferers for treatment. Hopefully it will be completed in about 5 months.
