a move to a more relaxed, quality tourism
The face of Benidorm tourism will be changing rapidly over the next two years. At the end of that period there will be at least 43,500 hotel places in town and Benidorm will account for 75% of all the hotel accommodation on the entire Costa Blanca.
However things are not just getting bigger, they're changing. The style and standard of the hotels to be built reflect a move to a more relaxed, quality tourism, being low level and with lots of green space for guests.
The areas out of town near Terra Mitica and Rincón de l’Oix are high on the developers' lists with the Sheraton group building 2 luxury hotels consisting of bungalows like a small town. In addition, the Rafael group are constructing the Terra Gardens Hotel, and there are the new 4 and 5 star hotels to be built on the two nearby golf courses.
The general opinion is that the new developments will not affect the traditional market of the existing central Benidorm hotels and will add a new dimension to the town's image.
