San Fermin

no bulls loose on the streets of Benidorm
One of the great features about Benidorm (apart from all the obvious ones like top class accommodation, entertainment, weather and beaches) is the fact that visitors get to see snatches of the whole of Spain in just one place.
So many Spanish people from all over the vast peninsula now live and work in the area that many local festivals are celebrated in town when normally tourists would have to travel many miles to see them.
Last week for example the Navarra community celebrated the start of San Fermín with an all day bash in town. Even if readers don't know the festival by name they will certainly recognise the festival of running the bulls in Pamplona, the provincial capital.
Whilst there were no bulls loose on the streets of Benidorm, there was much feasting on Navarran specialities, and even better lots of delicious cider from the area for thirst quenching purposes!
