The Russians are coming: The council has invested €85,000 in a publicity campaign to attract visitors from Moscow to Benidorm.
Mortgages: Benidorm hoteliers are worried that predicted interest rate hikes in Britain together with the increased cost of aviation fuel will adversely affect the numbers of British visitors who currently make up 60% of the market.
Crazy Paving: The streets of Vila Joiosa are being repaved after only a year. It seems that the new surface was designed for pedestrian use only and heavy traffic is causing it to sink.
No more chocolate: High prices and lack of industrial space are the reasons cited for the move of Vila Joiosa's 100 year old chocolate factory to a new location - so the Vila will no longer be known as Chocolate City.
