the ratio of 4* to 2* hotel places is now 2 to 1.

We've often said that the face and image of Benidorm tourism is changing radically and nothing illustrates this better than the following statistics we have obtained from HOSBEC, the local hotel association.

Over the last seven years the number of hotel places in the two star category has dropped by an incredible 43% but there has been a corresponding increase in the number of four star places available, so much so that the ratio of 4* to 2* hotel places is now 2 to 1.

Though the town doesn't have a 5 star hotel yet this situation will soon change with the opening of the Real de Faula near Terra Mitica.

Benidorm is certainly shedding its package tour image thanks to the arrival of the independent travellers who want quality holidays in better quality hotels.
