Benidorm for the Disabled
Published on 18th October, 2004
The technical services department of Benidorm council has come up with a splendid idea to check the streets of the town for accessibility to wheelchair users.
They have employed a young Benidorm man, David Ramos, who is paralysed because of a medical condition, to criss-cross every street in town in his wheelchair and provide a detailed report of all the black spots. The information will be used to improve the facilities and access for the disabled round town.
David's first impressions are that the town centre doesn't present any serious difficulty getting his motorised wheelchair just where he wants it but some of the other districts do. Here's to the completion of the survey!
