The Elephant Man of Terra Natura

works with the best zoological institutions

Benidorm's environmental theme park Terra Natura is certainly pulling out all the stops to ensure that it has the best of everything in time for its opening. Now it has recruited Alan Roocroft, the world's foremost expert in the care and treatment of elephants in captivity, onto its team as a consultant.

Roocroft, who also works with the best zoological institutions in America, Europe and Southeast Asia, has supervised the design of the elephant living quarters and the giant compound where they will be housed. He will now visit every three months to ensure that the quarters, described as the best in Europe, provide the best physical and psychological environment for the animals.

He will also be on hand to introduce the elephants to each other when they arrive from various corners of the world so that they integrate seamlessly into a natural group. All that we need to know now is when Terra Natura will open?
