Throw Wifey from the Cliff

Police in Benidorm have detained a man on suspicion of attempted femicide after he twice tried to kill his partner (allegedly) by driving his car over a cliff with her inside.
Luckily for her, and unluckily for him, another couple who were in the vicinity of the mountainous and craggy Sierra Helada area just outside town, heard the poor woman's cries for help and alerted two police agents who just happened to be patrolling this not normally busy area.
The police are now trying to prove that the man, who fled the scene immediately and was arrested in central Benidorm, had a premeditated plan and that the events were not just an accident.
