routes to the theme park and discotheque areas

The transport authorities have initiated preliminary studies on the construction of an urban tramway in Benidorm. The route would link the southern and northern parts of the city and would run partially underground beneath the heart of town and then at ground level in the Levante area and also along the future promenade of the Poniente beach.

However, the tramway would not be just a closed loop as the proposed plans see it linking to the new route from Villajoyosa to Altea thus opening up routes to the theme park and discotheque areas of town.

As yet the project is only in the early planning stage but we think that the benefits of a fast modern transport system, unhindered by traffic problems, would be a wonderful addition to the Benidorm scene.
