Working Overtime

...very strange that it is the same few departments making these payments to the same people...
Some startling figures have just been revealed about Benidorm council's wage bill, which shows over €1 million has been made in payment for hours worked 'overtime.'
Union bosses are staggered at the level of expense and point out that, whilst not being against overtime in principle, they think the money would be better spent in taking up to 50 people off the unemployment line and given full time jobs.
They also say that it seems very strange that it is the same few departments making these payments to the same people every time, some working 20 hours a day, and they think there is something 'special' going on. They feel that a proper work study programme would reveal the true necessities of the council's workforce vis-à-vis full time jobs and overtime. Here, here!
