a resurgence of visitors
It was good news all around in Benidorm as predictions for the recent bank holiday weekend surpassed all expectations. Quite literally many hotels were full and were able to put up the 'no vacancies' signs for the first time in a long while.
People flooded in from all points, many of course from inland Spain, to celebrate the big fiesta and rooms were hard to come by. It's always a bit difficult to predict anything where the Spanish are concerned because they really do leave everything to the last minute, including their most important purchase of the year, their annual holiday.
Meanwhile, Terra Mitica, one of our favourite theme parks, has announced that there is such a resurgence of visitors to the park, that they are taking on extra staff to work in the many restaurants and snack bars to cover demand from hungry but happy holidaymakers.
The big new spectacular rides like Synkope and the Pyramid of Terror are pulling the punters in by the coachload, and rightly so, as they're amongst the best in Europe.
