Levante beach packed like on an August day
The figures for visitors to the Costa Blanca and Benidorm in particular over the Easter period are looking good. Despite gloomy predictions due to the early nature of the Easter period it looks like the area had a bumper period. Hotel occupancy in the region as a whole was a staggering 90% and in Benidorm it reached 95%!
The good weather helped with many Spanish visitors just turning up on the last minute to book into hotels, apartments and campsites, and the local press proudly displayed photos of the Levante beach packed like on an August day.
The Terra Mitica theme park surpassed all its expectations with 76,000 visitors over the holiday - 18% more than normal. Even Terra Natura, which is only open on a limited basis at the moment, had 18,000 paying customers.
