Benidorm Christmas Fare Fair

Even though latterly Christmas has become a little commercialised it still remains a very traditional, family affair in Benidorm. Visitors to the city will get the chance this weekend to flavour the traditional Christmas ware and fare as the 32 stall Christmas fare opens in la Alameda de Pedro Zaragoza.
The idea is to raise funds for the city's fiestas next year by selling food, drinks and typical products of the festive season. So for example, instead of Brussels sprouts, visitors to the market will find local delicacy 'pastissos de boniato,' a kind of sweet potato pastry that tastes nicer, and doesn't take 4 hours to cook.
For the younger visitors, there'll also be a collection point for begging letters to Papa Noel, as Father Christmas is known round these parts. We guarantee that the kids will get what they ask for - but only if they've been good all year!
