Food, Glorious Food

Vila Joyosa is once again living up to its reputation as 'Food City, Alicante' as the Vila Gastronomica has come up trumps by luring three top food and drink experts into town. The trio will be showing off their talents next week in the town's 400 seater social centre in three workshops which all start at 19.00 hours.
On October 5th Manel Pla will be holding forth on the subject of wine, the next day Paco Torreblanca, who made the wedding cake for Felipe and Letizia, will be giving his all on the subject of, you've guessed it, cakes.
The star turn is undoubtedly Ferrán Adrià on the 7th, Spain's most modern and trendiest chef, a kind of mix of Jamie Oliver and Gary Rhodes - but without the cockney accent and spikes, who will be there covering all things connected with Mediterranean cuisine.
