Benidorm's socialist opposition obviously believe in grabbing the attention of their voters when they're young. They've written to the town hall asking that the number of swings for children be increased on the Avenida de Bélgica as they've had complaints that there aren't enough.
Meanwhile the council has had to pay out over €190,000 to people who've tripped over loose tiles in the street and injured themselves. Fortunately, €130,000 of this was covered by the council's insurers, but the socialists say the pavements should be better maintained.
