two medieval taverns selling flagons of grog
It doesn't seem like five minutes since good king Pedro III granted the rights to township to Finestrat for the bargain basement price of 12 gold coins per annum. Well, that was back in 1280, and now 725 years later they've shelled out 8700 gold coins in total and are having a series of birthday celebrations to mark this momentous event.
Top of the list is the town's Medieval Market which takes place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and will have 70 stalls where artisans will be selling their merry old medieval wares. The streets of the old town will be thronged with people eager to buy ceramics, semi-precious stones, iron work, puppets, paintings, soaps and perfumes and last but not least many traditional foodstuffs from the good old days like cheese and sausage. Even better will be the two medieval taverns selling flagons of grog served by comely young wenches.
Sounds like it will be a great weekend and as always, there'll be an almighty fireworks display too!
