Beyond the Fringe
Published on 5th February, 2005
Our local papers are full of stories from the loud minority who want, want, want. Here's a trio of tales we picked at random from this week's papers.
The Benidorm socialists want certain walls of the town making available for the practice and exhibition of the 'artwork' of the town's graffiti artists. Hopefully this will stop them exhibiting in places where they shouldn't.
The dog owners of La Cala want to be able to take their pooches on the public buses in the area as at present this is not allowed and any dog requiring transport must use Shank's pony.
Ecologists in Action want the Posidonia prairies ('fields' of aquatic plants) which grow around Altea transplanting to a safer environment before the sports harbour is enlarged.
