The Germans are Coming
Published on 19th March, 2005
All the signs this year point to the recovery of the German tourist market in its traditional happy holiday areas of Spain, the Costas, and Benidorm in particular. Spanish tourist authorities have been out in force at the recent big Berlin travel fair trying to attract the Germans back here.
After a couple of lean years due to the economic situation in Germany when more out of the way, less developed (ie cheaper) destinations like Egypt, Turkey and Croatia were favoured, it now seems that they want to come back to Spain where service is better and more value for money. Our hoteliers are pleased as punch with these predictions and no doubt will be wishing a hearty 'wilkommen' to our old Teutonic friends.
