Benidorm is number one with a bullet in the holiday popularity charts of Spain. It shot to the top for the month of October after registering over a million holiday-maker nights giving an astonishing hotel occupancy rate of over 82%.
During the month over 117,000 people flooded into the town, 64,000 foreign tourists and the remaining 53,000 from Spain, to enjoy the wonderful facilities and attractions here.
The statistics, provided by the Spanish National Institute, also show that Benidorm is extremely popular for a short weekend break, as hotel occupancy levels rose to nearly 85% during this period.
Tourist bosses are, understandably, thrilled and say that this is the best October Benidorm has had since 2001. And we agree, so keep it up everybody.
