an enormous film studio just outside Alicante
Extra, extra, read all about it! The makers of the new Asterix film are looking for extras in Benidorm and l’Alfàs del Pi to work alongside well-known French actor Gerard Depardieu.
It might come as a big surprise to many people that there is an enormous film studio just outside Alicante – La Ciudad de la Luz (The City of Light) – where the film will be made. The casting for the film, titled Asterix and the Greek Olympics, will be held on Poniente beach in Benidorm on Monday afternoon at 16.00 and the same time the next day in the Casa de Cultura in Alfàs.
Would be extras will need to be of muscular build, it is the Olympics after all, and either blond, to be a Viking, or swarthy, to be a Greek. And the money’s not bad either, up to €120 a day for hanging about waiting for the command ‘Lights, camera, action!’
