terrific fun for all the family
It seems that the world and his wife are out celebrating in Benidorm and its surroundings at the moment. The town itself has just started its annual festival of Moors and Christians which is terrific fun for all the family with grand parades, marches, music and lots of fireworks.
Theme parks Terra Mitica and Terra Natura also have cause for celebration; Terra Mitica has experienced a 6% increase in paying customers this year and saw over half a million visitors in the 9 week high season. Over at Terra Natura, bosses are cock-a-hoop about the birth of a second baby ocelot, a rare and endangered feline species.
In Villajoyosa, it's the annual gastronomic treat that is the Festival of the Blue Fish and over 1500 people turned up to sample just how good the fish - freshly caught by the local fishing fleet - can be when cooked to perfection.
On the other side of Benidorm, Altea has been celebrating its local festival of Cristo del Sagrario when over 5000 took part in the procession around the narrow streets of the old town with a musical and fireworks accompaniment.
