Benidorm Marathon

no less than 2,664 runners

Yesterday the streets of Benidorm resounded to the rhythm of trainer against road as the 24^th annual Benidorm Marathon took place. Together with the half marathon, which is run concurrently, no less than 2,664 runners were set on their way by the Mayor, various other important dignataries and the Fiesta Queens of this year's Benidorm festival.

Many of the runners taking part were sponsored so that the fruits of their efforts could be enjoyed by various charities and many came from all over Spain and abroad.

The winners were; Male Marathon, Fikadu Bekele Marghisa; Female Marathon, Sandra Ruales Mosquera; Male Half Marathon,Stuart Stokes and in the Female Half Marathon, Fridah Lodepa. Congratulations to them all.
