Any seven stone weaklings out there who've ever had sand kicked in their faces on Levante beach should get their gluteus maximus down to the Benidorm Sports Palace this June.
The World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships will be held there on the 9th and 10th of the month. Over 300 contestants from 28 different countries will be flexing their pecs, abs, quads and tans in an unmitigated display of muscular machismo - and that's just the girls!
They'll be competing for titles such as Mr. Athletic, Mr. Physique and Miss Figure, and the lady competitors will also be trying to out do each other in the categories of 'skimpiest bikini' and 'highest stilleto heels.'
On the same theme, 'local' boy Eduardo Castejón Nosti is off to Peru to compete in this year's Mr Universe competition. Already Mr. Spain, Eduardo, who is a lawyer by profession, spent many holiday seasons working in Benidorm when he was younger. The Spotlight team wish him luck but would like to point out that we've already proved that brains and beauty can go together.
