Benidorm Cops Bag Pirates

Published on 2nd March, 2006

Five Chinese citizens are now under arrest in Benidorm after a raid by the local police this week. They are charged with illegally copying and selling compact discs and DVDs and the case against them seems to be overwhelming as they were caught red handed with 8000 CDs and 3000 DVDs. Not only that but they were actually using 6 computers to copy the discs at the time of the raid which lasted 5 hours such was the volume of contraband on the premises.

Police were alerted that something was amiss when large numbers of Chinese, were spotted entering and leaving the same small flat in Benidorm's old town. With help from the National Police, they obtained the necessary search warrant and then raided the flat.

This is not the first time that the Chinese population of the area has been implicated in crimes of counterfeiting and last year saw many raids resulting in the confiscation of thousands of fake items.
